Analysis of The One Who Came and Dined



The One Who Came and Dined
This drama story is general story because the drama story is finally to be regarded as a presentation or imitation of life. The characters in the drama can be regarded a human character as a social being in the real life, and then their behavior, thought, feeling, can be equally treated as humans characters have. Then, all of the events in the drama story is like being in the real life.
Mood of Expressions
A mood is an emotional state, feelings. Mood is the way you are feeling at any particular time. In literature, the mood is expressed with descriptive words.
We divided three parts of the mode of expressions in “The One Who Came and Dined”, they are:
·         Opening – When the innkeeper is busy in preparing meals and she feels disturb by the tramp knock at the door. The moods of expressions in this section are angry and emotional. Angry is an emotion that highly contrasts and disagrees with the emotion, happy. She is angry because she enjoy preparing the meals, but there is someone who knocked the door suddently. Then, she got an emotional.
·         Middle (of the drama story) – When the innkeeper feels that she will be rich because of the stone soup. The moods of expressions in this section are happiness, joyful, cheerful. Cheerful is some feelings that is shown by smile, laugh, even grateful.
·         Closing – When the innkeeper felt that the husband cheated by the trump, the trump has taken away her chickens and vegetables. The moods of expressions in this section are disappointment, sadness, and regret. Disappointment is feeling that makes you cry and it makes your heart is very hurt because of something that you did not like it. Sadness is an emotion that can be discribed as a pain felt in the heart, or it is like you are going to implode. It can come with the reaction of tears. Some people tend to like to stay in dark rooms when under the influence of sadness, others seek desperatly for somone to confide in. Regret is when you wish, you had done things differently in your past. Regret is a feeling often accompanied by sadness, shame, and guilt.
